April 2018 Recap

April was an active month for our group! We had several ladies training for distance PR's, so it was fun to encourage and watch them train all month long. The most notable part of April was the wind - I mean the Boston Marathon :) It was amazing watching the Boston Marathon unfold, tracking our MRTT runners and just seeing all the runners battle through those conditions. It reminds me that when weather, an injury or getting sick throws off your game plan - it just requires you to readjust your expectations and keep moving forward. Anyone who has a goal has to work for it and be consistent! Personally I am still dealing with side effects from a foot fracture 2 years ago - agh!!! I understand the recovery seems never ending and how many of us deal with this first hand. It can be very frustrating at times, but it just proves there is no easy button, no excuses - it is simply RELENTLESS FORWARD PROGRESS. Keep setting goals based on what you can do today, keep moving forward and know that everyone struggles along the way - this group can help lift you up! Don't let excuses be stronger than your will to push yourself to be happy and succeed at your goals!

It's our Birthday month! Our chapter turned 5 this month! To celebrate we encouraged everyone to jog or run a 5k/5 miles! Our ladies got creative - we had over 60+ entries! We would like to thank our sponsors for donating prizes for this party - Goats Goodies, Sara Warren Hair Design and the Cake Agent.

April Challenge

We love Bingo and enjoyed one of our runners creating this BINGO challenge for our group. It was a lot of fun seeing our group cross of those squares!

Enjoy the View

We have taken in some amazing views this month, thanks for sharing! (except for the snake pictures, we don't need to see any more of those :) )

Out for a Run

Look at all these awesome ladies making no excuses to get out and get it done! It is always fun to look back at what everyone is wearing throughout the month. We seemed to be layering up a lot this month. Love all the smiles, miles and frunner fun!

Race Day

Congratulations to everyone who raced this month! Several runners typically hibernate in May, so lots of ladies were crossing off races before the heat. Don't forget to list your race in the Races We Are Doing document, it can be found in the FB files section. We can give you a pre-race shout-out also :)

The Boston Marathon We were so excited to see our chapter represented in Boston this year. Congratulations to everyone for getting to Boston, and then completing the race. Crossing the finish line in those conditions was beyond impressive - way to earn that prestigious bling!

The Fairview Half Marathon Our group loves the local, Active Joe races. It is always exciting to see so many familiar faces at this race! We had a few first time 13.1 finishers - congrats!!!

Coyote Trail Run This was the inaugural trail run at Cleburne State Park hosted by TROT. Looked like a lot of fun, way to go ladies!

The Texas BlueBonnet Half

Get Racing put on a wonderful half marathon in McKinney. The weather forecast was almost 100% rain and it never came! Frisco Running Company is such a huge supporter of our chapter, it is always great when we see our group out supporting these races.

From Big Sur to the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, we had ladies out across the US earning some amazing bling. Congratulations to everyone, and special shoutout to our ladies who joined club 26.2 - we enjoyed watching you train for this!

Don't forget to checkout our monthly challenges or 5 by the 5th to keep you moving. We also want to thank our local MRTT sponsors for supporting our group!
